SOBRIETY MILESTONES, IN PLASTIC.
You know the date. Maybe it is 30 days. Maybe it is a year. Maybe it is ten. Someone you love counted to it, one day at a time, and you want to mark it. The card aisle is no help. The cards either turn it into a sermon or pretend it is a birthday. Neither one fits.
A Thudletter fits. We take your message, or a photo of real handwriting, and 3D-print it into a raised-letter slab of hard white plastic. Black letters, white slab, a real object that sits on a shelf. It does not flash, beep, or ask for a battery. It just sits there and holds what you wrote.
WHAT TO ACTUALLY WRITE
This is the part people freeze on, so here is the rule: let them lead the tone. If they are private about it, keep yours quiet. A date and three words can carry more than a paragraph. "One year. Proud of you." That is a finished message. Nobody reads it twice and cringes.
You get up to 280 characters on a typed Thudletter, which is plenty, and the temptation is to use all of them. Resist. The slab is not the place for the whole recovery arc or the hard parts you both remember. Name the thing. Say you noticed. Stop.
If you would rather it be in your own hand, write it on clean unruled white paper and photograph it. We print the actual handwriting into the plastic. Skip lined paper, the rules confuse the print and crash the mesh.
DISCRETION IS THE WHOLE POINT
This is not a banner. There is no logo, no slogan, nothing that announces what it commemorates to a guest scanning the room. To anyone who does not know, it reads as a small object with some text on it. To the person it is for, it reads as the only thing it could read as.
That privacy is on purpose. Recovery is theirs to talk about or not, on their schedule. A gift that respects that, that says someone is proud without making a speech in front of company, lands cleaner than anything loud.
PICK A SIZE, NOT A STATEMENT
Three sizes. Small at $29 for a few quiet words. Standard at $35 if you want a bit more room. Jumbo at $60 for a wall piece, the kind of thing that earns the space it takes up. Shipping is free, United States only for now.
Default is the white slab with black raised letters, which reads clean and stays legible across the room. Other filament colors when stock allows, just ask. There is also an optional puzzle add-on: we cut the slab into friction-fit pieces they assemble themselves. Plus $5 on Small and Standard, plus $15 on Jumbo. A small thing to do with their hands, if that suits them.
HOW IT GETS THERE
We make it and mail it from Detroit, boxed, USPS Ground Advantage. Figure about 5 days to the mailbox for a Small or Standard, 7 for a Jumbo. So if the date is close, order now and let it arrive a touch early rather than a week late.
On the material: it is PLA, a hard dense plant-derived plastic. It belongs on shelves and walls. It will not melt in a mailbox. It will melt in a dishwasher or a hot parked car, so keep it off both. If it shows up broken or we misprinted it on our end, we reprint it free within 30 days. That part is on us.
Enough reading
The date is coming whether you mark it or not. A Thudletter is a quiet way to say you counted too, in something they can keep on a shelf instead of a card they recycle in March. Type the message, pick a size, and we will print it and put it in the mail.
